Marble is usually used for the watch dial because of its unique pattern, which makes it possible to have a distinctive pattern on every watch dial, without the need for an additional process to carve the pattern. This character cannot be replaced by other natural materials.
In terms of different classifications, there are hundreds of types of marble. According to the basic color of its polished surface, marble face watch can be roughly divided into seven series: white, yellow, green, gray, red, coffee, and black. Each series can be divided into several sub-categories according to the color and pattern characteristics of its polished surface, such as Chinese white jade, rosin yellow, Dandong green, Hang grey, etc.
In general, there are two kinds of stone materials commonly used in wood and marble watches making.

Lazurite: The color of Lazurite is determined by the amount of lapis lazuli minerals contained, the more lapis lazuli mineral the lazurite has, the color is the better, on the contrary, the color is worse. Owing to the lapis lazuli minerals being blue, therefore, the lazurite with a strong blue tone, and pure is the best.
